Bear Park House Renderings

What a great project from a great Canadian client. These renderings, like all of my renderings, is an exercise in patience.  Although my workflow doesn't change, each project seems to have its own personality. Some are easy going and some are very temperamental; this one was easy going. From displacement to high-quality bushes and trees, too high-quality cars, depth of field, and environmental fog.  Even though the architectural rendering has all the bells and whistles, the scene was stable and rendered relatively quickly.

Home2 - Joplin Mo Rendering

During the early 90's I worked as an illustrator for a hotel/motel design/build architectural firm. This, Home2 rendering, is for Joplin, Mo where I traveled for my early 90's position.  It was a pleasure to render this building and it brough back some good memories.

Kellogg Retreat Rendering

The stars were aligned for this architectural rendering. Although I added a lot of information, rendering times were great; at 4K these stills rendered out in 1/2 per still.

3DS MAX and Composition

Here, I am sharing a little type to set up the rules of third in 3D MAX, natively. Also, I am sharing two tools that have become indispensable in my 3DS MAX composition workflow. Any questions, feel free to comment on this post.

The Capri Interior Renderings

Over the past years, I have created 100's of exterior architectural renderings and this year alone, I am closing in on that number with my interior architectural renderings. Like my exterior renderings, interior renderings take a special skill and attention to detail. Technically, interiors are a pain to render, especially since most American homes have small window openings.  Getting all the natural light into the small opening is a computer nightmare. I compensate with artificial light, but the natural light looks so much nicer and with the right HDRI, the colors are nice a subtle.

Goodbye Uncanny Valley

Goodbye Uncanny Valley

It’s 2017 and computer graphics have conquered the Uncanny Valley, that strange place where things are almost real... but not quite. After decades of innovation, we’re at the point where we can conjure just about anything with software. The battle for photoreal CGI has been won, so the question is... what happens now?

Ludlow Row Nashville Rendering

Nashville is booming and I am happy to be apart of it. Over the past several years I have completed a dozen architectural renderings for builders, architects, and developers in Nashville Tenessee. It's a beautiful part of our great country, so I know why people are moving there.

Home2 Architectural Rendering

Honestly, I never heard of this hotel chain, however, I loved the name. After doing my research, like I do for every project, I found that it is a Hilton property. I suppose Home2 is poplular other places, just not in my neck of the woods.

20 Penniman Loft Renderings

The work I do spans the globe, which always amazes me from where I have come from. Starting my career in the early 90's, where my work came from within a 30-mile radius, to working for people in almost every state and every continent. This project, the 20 Penniman Loft renderings, is in Boston. I visit my projects site using Google maps and this project is really going to boost the neighborhood. The building is under construction, but is months away from being ready for occupancy, so they need renderings to start their marketing campaigns. I don't think they'll have a problem filling these units up, hopfully crediting my work.
